Kesari sandesh

3/4 kg freshly made paneer (cottage cheese)

1 1/2 tin sweetened condensed milk

3 heaped tbsp milk powder 

1 1/2 tbsp flour 

3 tbsp sugar, powdered

A few strands of saffron soaked in 1 tbsp of water

1 tbsp lemon peel

Warq (silver leaf) for decorating (optional)

Blend all ingredients (except the last two) to a smooth paste. Heat the mixture in a heavy bottomed pan.Lower the flame after 3 to 4 minutes. Cook on low flame until the mixture is dry. Add lemon peel and mix well.  Spread the mixture in a greased plate and let it cool. When cool cut into desired shape and decorate with warq.
